Kurfürstendamm
A visit to Berlin is not complete without a stroll down Kurfürstendamm (commonly known as Ku’damm) in Charlottenburg. Along with its continuation, Tauentzienstrasse, it is the city's longest and most bustling shopping street, filled with both high-street chains and designer boutiques.
Some highlights include the KaDeWe, the largest department store in continental Europe, which features an impressive food hall, as well as the innovative concept and flagship stores at Bikini Berlin, a refurbished 1950s landmark near Zoo Station. Amidst all the shopping and activity, the beautifully ruined Gedächtniskirche (Memorial Church) serves as a poignant reminder of the tragedy of war.
